Students can register for the CA Foundation September 2024 Exam Till May 01, 2024. Furthermore, ICAI mentions that the date of commencement of registration and conversion in the foundation course under the new scheme is 1st May 2024.

In a Recent notification, ICAI has announced that the CA Foundation Exam will held thrice a year in June, September and January. It may noted that 1st May 2024 is the last date for registering for the CA Foundation Course for appearing in the Foundation Examination to be held in September 2024.

Re: Cut-off date for enrollment in Foundation Course for appearing in September 2024/ January 2025 Examinations.

The Institute has decided that from May/June 2024 onwards, Foundation course Examinations will be held thrice a year in the months of May/June, September and January from the existing practice of twice a year, and the CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in the month of May and November.

Students who are fulfilling the eligibility criteria for Admission to the Foundation course examination, i.e registered with the Board of Studies of the Institute for a minimum period of four months on or before the 1st day of the month in which the examination is held along with other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 25F and for Intermediate course Examination i.e registered with the Board of Studies of the Institute and produces a certificate to the effect that he has undergone a study course for a period of not less than eight months as on the first day of the month in which the examination is held along with other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 28G can appear in the next eligible exam.

The Institute has decided that from May/June 2024 onwards, Intermediate & Foundation course Examinations will be held thrice a year in the months of May/June, September and January from the existing practice of twice a year. The CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year, in May and November. 

Students may note that as per the above eligibility criteria –

The last date for registration in the Foundation Course to appear in the September 2024 Examination is 1 May 2024. Furthermore, the ICAI will release the CA Foundation exam dates for the June 2024 attempt. The exams will be conducted between June 20, 2024, and June 26, 2024.

Eligibility for CA Foundation Registration September 2024

The eligibility criteria for the CA September 2024 Registration are as follows:

  • Students must have passed or appeared in the 12th examinations constituted by Law or conducted by an examining body recognised by the Central Government.
  • Students have to register before May 01, 2024, and complete the study period of four months.
  • They also need to register with the Board of Studies (BoS).

Furthermore, According to the recent notification, Students may note that the November/December 2023 CA Foundation Examination will be held under the Existing Scheme of Education and Training.

ICAI has also started provisional registrations for students who have cleared their 10th class. So, in place of the 12th Marksheet, they have to submit a scanned copy of their admit card. Students who have taken their exams but whose results are awaited can also register under Provisional registration.


How do you register for the CA Foundation Exams in September 2024?

  1. Go to the ICAI website – icaiexam.icai.org or click here.
  2. Enter the required details and click on Generate OTP. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number or email ID.
  3. Enter the OTP received to complete the validation. Afterwards, you’ll receive the login credentials via Email/SMS.
  4. Next, log in to the ICAI website with the credentials received.
  5. Now, you’ll see 2 options, from which select the Student Cycle on the left side.
  6. Then, select ‘Apply for Foundation‘.
  7. You’ll see the form in the next window, where some details will be auto-filled. You have to fill in the rest of the details and click on ‘Save and Next‘.
  8. Submit the required documents in the scanned format.
  9. Then, upload your photograph and signature.
  10. After submitting all the details and documents, you have to pay the CA Foundation registration fees.
  11. Print out the registration form, attach the required documents, and post them to the ICAI postal address.

Important Update regarding Registration Fee: 

ICAI has made an exception to the CA foundation fees. The ICAI has allowed a 75% fee concession for the newly formed Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and the 8 Northeastern states. Thus, students residing in these areas have to pay the CA Foundation registration fee of only Rs 2250.

    Documents Required for CA Foundation Registration

    Check the documents needed to register for the CA Foundation exams:

    1. Admit Card/ Marksheet of class 12th exams issued by the respective board.
    2. A coloured photograph of the candidate.
    3. Proof of Nationality if the student is a foreigner.
    4. Proof of special category certificate, i.e. ST/ SC/ OBC or differently-abled.
    5. Class 10th marksheet or the admit card of the 10th class indicating the Name and Date of Birth.

    CA Foundation Registration Validity

    The CA Foundation exams are conducted two times a year. Once registered, the CA Foundation registration is valid for three years, which means six attempts. And after three years, you can revalidate your registration by depositing Rs 300/- as revalidation fees.
